Procedures
- Urgent/Fast Track Care-Urgent visits are medical office visits for minor injuries, illnesses, and other medical problems that need treated in a timely manner. Fast track care can be applied to many urgent problems such as sore throat, cough, headache, sprains, and strains. Urgent visits help to reduce unnecessary emergency room visits.
- Preventative check ups-Preventative check-ups are important in preventing serious health problems such as cancer. Preventative check ups are longer than a normal medical visit.
- Sports physicals-KHSAA requires sports physicals before an athlete can participate in school sports. Sports physicals include a health history and physical examination.
- School physicals- School physicals are required by law for public school enrollment. School physicals include a health history and physical examination.
- Acute illness -Acute illnesses are rather simple, and go away within a short time period. These conditions usually begin suddenly but respond well to treatment in most cases. Examples of acute illnesses are strep throat, bronchitis, pink eye, and flu. Acute illnesses need to be treated to prevent more serious problems.
- Chronic illness & disease management-Chronic disease management is an important part of healthcare delivery, especially in the elderly. Chronic illness includes conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), cardiovascular disease, diabetes, COPD.
- Injury evaluation and treatment-Treatment for minor sprains, strains, cuts, scrapes
- Referrals to specialists-When deemed necessary, you may be referred to a medical specialist. Some doctors who are specialists include cardiologists, urologists, gastroenterologists.
- Comprehensive Medication Evaluations-these visits are important in ensuring that the medications you are currently prescribed are safe, and do not interact with each other.
